Lynn Huneycutt
Owner and Master Stylist
Lynn is a graduate of Garfield Cosmetology Institute in Northern Virginia (1975). She is a Master Color Specialist with the Redken Color Academy and is a certified Framesi, Goldwell and Paul Mitchell colorist. Lynn has completed the Roffler Technical Training Course in advanced razor cutting techniques as well as many educational classes and workshops. As a stylist, Lynn has spent her career devoted to her love of hairstyling.
Her menu of specialties include: highlights, lowlights, perming services, cut and color design, and Bridal styling. Lynn is a perfectionist - with a proactive personality. These qualities ensure she is always searching out the beauty industry’s latest trends to provide the best services for her clients as well as keeping abreast of the latest and most advanced training available for herself and her staff.
Her perfectionist attitude as a stylist is only surpassed by her business prowess. After acquiring “Whispers” from its previous owner in the early 90’s, she has taken a once lifeless relic and transformed it into the salon it is today.
Most recently, Lynn was named Winner: Charleston City Paper - Best of Charleston for three consecutive years - 2005 - 2006 and 2007!"
Oliver Puckett
Senior Stylist/Cosmetic Art Team
Oliver’s passion for beauty began at an early age. That passion drove him to become a 2000 graduate of Charleston Cosmetology Institute. Oliver is well versed in all manners of hair, but his true creativity shines when he is performing color services, styling services or make-up applications.
Oliver offers all types of coloring and a full spectrum of styling, from a blow out to a full formal up-do. The newest “rung” on Oliver’s ladder to success came in late 2005 when he was invited to join TIGI as an educator for Bed Head cosmetics. As a member of the Cosmetics Art Team (CAT), Oliver has been given the opportunity to travel to different cities across the country. In addition to this, Oliver takes part in various hands on training classes and participates in platform work at national industry shows.
That combined with many other continuing education events that he attends give him the ability to stay proficient in the beauty industry. Oliver’s straightforward attitude, outgoing personality, and unique way of looking at life, allows him to connect with his clients’ wants and needs, making it possible for them to walk out of the salon putting their best head forward!
Originally from a small town in Wisconsin, Becky always knew her calling was cosmetology. Becky moved to the low country in 2000 and graduated from the Charleston Cosmetology Institute in 2001. Becky is a trained Redken and Paul Mitchell colorist.
She has attended numerous educational events such as Premiere 2007 in Orlando and the 2006 Paul Mitchell Signature Gathering in Las Vegas, as well as Redken’s color Academy classes and advanced haircutting by TIGI’s top trainers.
Away from the salon, Becky participates in several local charities including Locks of Love and St. Baldricks. Makeovers for Graffiti magazine and College Of Charleston’s sororities girls are only a few ways you can see Becky’s creative and stylish work. Becky creates magnificent cuts and colors creatively.
She offers facial waxing and relaxing spa pedicures, but her true passion is in color. Becky’s knowledge of color formulation combined with her skillful foiling and cutting techniques allow her to creatively design a unique look for each client. Becky’s upbeat personality keeps her clients coming back for more! As a dedicated professional, Becky listens to her clients, then goes above and beyond to meet their needs.
Sabriam Brinton
Associate Stylist
Sabriam is a native to the Charleston Lowcountry. She is a graduate of Charleston Cosmetology Institute as well as a College of Charleston alumus. She attends educational events such as the Premiere 2007 Orlando and Paul Mitchell color classes. Sabriam offers all salon services from trendy cuts to sassy color and nail services, too!

Alison Ziegler
Associate Stylist
Originally from Pomfret, Maryland, Alison was drawn to Charleston’s coastal living and beautiful historic downtown area. She is a graduate of Aspen Beauty Academy located in Silver Springs, MD and earned a Bachelors degree at Lees McRae College, NC. Alison has also attended advanced educational classes in Paul Mitchell and Redken color.
Alison’s career began when she took a job as a salon receptionist. Looking for nothing more than income – she soon found that this “job” had unlocked much more for her. Alison discovered her passion for hairdressing and this passion has driven her to quickly become a very talented artist.
Alison offers cuts for men and women as well as color services including dimensional highlights, lowlights and glazing. She expresses her creativity beautifully in her hair styling as well. We want to introduce our newest addition to the Whispers Team, Nikki French
She recently joined us to begin her career as a stylist after graduating from Charleston Cosmetology Institute in 2007. Nikki is a native to the area. She grew up on James Island where she enjoyed the Charleston summers reading on the beach.
Nikki realized her interest in the industry at a young age and pursued her dreams to launch a career in the cosmetology field. She excelled in her studies at the Institute and continues to impress as she builds her skills through in-salon and off site training. Nikki most recently attended a L’Oreal Professional Workshop and a TIGI Bedhead in salon training class.
We look forward to you coming in to meet our newest member, Nikki. She’s sure to win you over with her friendly smile and contagious laugh – and then she’ll give you one of the best shampoo massages you have ever experience!
Denise Doran
Salon Coordinator
Born and raised in Charleston, Denise is a native. Her “low country warmth” is known the second you hear her voice. Whether over the phone or in person, Denise maintains a level of professionalism that ensures each guest is provided with the highest level of service possible. You can rest assure that Denise will meet your needs from the moment you book your appointment until after you check out.
Aside from our salon guests, Denise also tends to the needy nature of the stylist as well as making sure that all day-to-day salon operations run smoothly.
In order to stay abreast of what’s new in products and industry concepts Denise attends many continuing educational events with the stylists, such as the 2006 Paul Mitchell Signature Gathering in Las Vegas and Premiere 2007 in Orlando.

Sarah is a native to the Lowcountry. She is currently a student at the College of Charleston; Pursuing two majors, Corporate Communications and Studio Art.
Aside from school, Sarah enjoys the hospitality side of the salon. With her willingness to please others, Sarah will ensure your visit at Whispers is a pleasant experience with a beautiful finish.
